Tigray Development Association Vancouver
PROJECTS
We plan to establish rehabilitation and recovery programs that will address the needs of communities caused by man-made and natural disasters. These will include but are not limited to:
1
Providing medical equipment and supplies,
2
Providing basic necessities such as food, clean water, medical supplies, medical care, clothing and shelter,
3
Building the capacity of education by rehabilitating war-damaged school buildings and furnishing them with needed supplies.
2023-2024
Phase 2
Building on the success of past initiatives, TDA VAN has launched Phase 2 of its 2023-2024 projects, focusing on the critical provision of medical equipment and supplies for Ayder Hospital and clinics across Tigray. With healthcare facilities strained from years of crisis, these contributions are aimed at re-equipping hospitals and clinics to restore essential medical services and ensure quality healthcare for the community.
2022-2023
Phase 1
Between 2022 and 2023, the Tigray Development Association Vancouver (TDA VAN) has been a steadfast pillar of support, delivering critical life-saving aid to the internally displaced Tegaru. Facing one of the most challenging humanitarian crises in recent history, TDA VAN mobilized resources and gathered support from the Tigrayan diaspora and compassionate allies to bring essential relief to vulnerable communities. During this time, we raised CAD182,000.
Through dedicated efforts, TDA VAN provided life-saving resources, reaching internally displaced families who had lost everything. The association’s contributions extended beyond material aid, offering hope and solidarity to those in desperate circumstances. This support not only addressed immediate needs but also fortified the resilience of Tegaru, underscoring TDA VAN’s commitment to the welfare and survival of Tigray’s people.
As we look ahead, TDA VAN remains resolute in its mission, aiming to continue its impactful contributions and partnerships in life-saving projects that support Tigray’s journey toward recovery and renewal.
